TAAC'2012

Second international conference of students, postgraduates and young scientists Theoretical and applied aspects of cybernetics has taken place on November, 12-16, 2012 on the basis of Cybernetics Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

The conference was organized by:

• Scientific Community of Students and Postgraduates of Cybernetics Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
• Cybernetics Faculty of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv .
• V.M. Glushkov Institute of Cybernetics of NAS of Ukraine .
• Institute of Software Systems of NAS of Ukraine .

Within the conference sessions of 3 sections have taken place:

• Computer Science and Software Engineering
• Applied Mathematics and System Analysis
• Artificial Intelligence

In which 46 participants from 9 countries have taken place, among them: Ukraine, Russia, Belorussia, Estonia, Slovakia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Georgia and Finland. In total 17 universities and 4 research institutes have been represented at the conference.

Also 8 open lectures have taken place within the conference:

• Logical Petri nets and their extensions. A brief survey.
• Themes in typed lambda calculi and their applications in the foundations of computation and mathematics
• Lambda-function in Java
• Privacy-preserving technologies
• The contraction method and random recursive equations
• Practical aspects of NLP work
• Enabling unsupervised classification of social media via clever linguistic tricks
• Industrial experience of applying genetic algorithm approach to 3D packing problem

Conference participants had a possibility to attend a city tour, tour to the Main Astronomical Observatory of NAS of Ukraine, Excursion to the Museum of History of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and the party. All most impressive moments can be seen at photo set.
